Meet the Team: Tima Boric
Title: Seamstress
Roles: Hard worker, master of all sewing tasks
Who would imagine that a print shop would need a full-time seamstress? For Big Visual Group, it’s a very important role, and this month’s Meet the Team spotlight fills it perfectly.
Tima Boric came to Nashville more than 20 years ago from the country of Bosnia. Along with her husband and then 4-year-old daughter, the Borics settled in to their new Nashville home, where Tima began working for Jamison Bedding. At Jamison, Tima sewed coverings for beds, and she spent 10 years doing sewing work for the company until it moved locations. Tima then began working at George P. Johnson, where she was also responsible for sewing tasks over a 5-year period.
Tima joined the Big Visual Group team in May of 2014, and started to own the unique role of being the print shop’s seamstress. Tima’s daily responsibilities include sewing anything from pop-up banners, flags, and more. Tima says, “I can sew anything. Whatever a customer wants, I can make it.” Tima prides herself in being dedicated to every individual job. She says, “People want to buy quality products. When they’re happy, I’m happy, too!”
When it comes to working at Big Visual Group, Tima really enjoys her role and the company culture. “Scott and Debbie are wonderful to work for,” Tima says. “Scott is a great boss. He’s always nice and treats us well,” she adds. “I also enjoy working with Ryan. When I first started working at Big Visual Group, he made me feel comfortable right away,” says Tima. She also compliments her coworkers who make each day on the job fun and pleasant.
Outside of work, you’ll find Tima tending to her garden, as she enjoys flowers and plants. A food lover, Tima also likes to cook. Being in Nashville, it’s hard not to become a country music fan, and that’s exactly what happened to Tima. She loves calling Music City her “home sweet home,” especially after visiting other cities. Tima and her husband have been married for 25 years. They have two wonderful daughters, one who’s 15 and the other a 24-year-old law student. Big Visual Group is honored to have Tima’s talent and passion on the team.
